As part of the Ciguatera surveillance program, the Institut Louis Malardé has developped an application dedicated to the online reporting and monitoring of ciguatera cases. The data collected, processed in real-time, feed a dynamic mapping of toxic species fishing areas, along with downloadable interactive statistics.
These tools are now available to all Pacific countries as part of the Pacific-Ciguawatch initiative, aimed at enhancing surveillance and management of ciguatoxic risk at the regional level.
